Vintage Uncategorized 1970's (E - I) Character Watches
Vintage Evel Knievel, Elvis Presley, Fiedler Arthur-"Mr. Pops", Felix the Cat, the Fonz, Freddy Frog, Garfield, Groucho Marx, Hallmark Girl, Harlem Globetrotters. Hazel, Hello Kitty, Henrietta Hippo, Herself the Elf, Holly Hobbie, Howdy Doody character watches.
Here is a 1977 Elvis Presley watch by Unique Time Co. which has the king of rock posing in his white 1970s style jump suit on a blue background with only the 3,6 & 9 numbers and white stars for the other numbers with gold hands including a gold second hand to tell the time. Marked with his facsimile signature and 1977 Unique Time Co. Hong Kong at the bottom.
Here is an Arthur Fiedler, "Mr. Pops" original which has a life like character of "Mr. Pops" the conductor with his baton in hand and a slight smile wearing a black pants and a red jacket all on a white background with numbers 3,6,9,& 12 showing and just dots for the other numbers and black hands to tell the time. Swiss movement, internally marked Endura Time Corp 1 jewel unadjusted.
Here we have a great Felix the Cat by Constructa LTD. Smiling Felix is on a white background with black numbers, a red second hand and his arms to tell the time. Marked Swiss Movt at the bottom for this cool find.
In 1976, Parker created this Fonz watch for Paramount Pictures which has the Fonz picture from the chest up with a big smile on a white background with black numbers, gold hands including a second hand to tell the time. Marked 1976 Paramount Pictures Corp.
In 1975, The
New Zoo Revue produced three watches made by Philmar. Here is Freddy Frog in his brown sweater with a large F on it ready to sing a song on a white background with black numbers, black minute marks and gold hands including a gold second hand to tell the time. Marked New Zoo Revue 1975. Hard to find these.
Garfield by Timex for Jim Davis has Garfield just sitting there lazily grinning on a white background with black numbers and black hands and a yellow second hand to tell the time. Signed Jim Davis 1978 United Featured Syndicate Inc. a rare find today!
Here is a 1976 Groucho Marx by Rega/Israel which has Groucho Marx dressed in a black suit and in his natural pose with his hand against his left face holding up his head while he is wearing glasses and his usual cigar in his mouth all on a white background with 3,6,9, & 12 numbers in red, white hands with red tips to tell the time and his eyes that move back and forth to tick off the seconds
In 1976 Hallmark produced this Hallmark Girl watch with 7 jewels for Sears department store. This little girl has yellow ribbons in her hair to match her yellow dress with black pants and white boots smiling adorably with her little grey and white cat next to her all on a white background with some flowers, black numbers and gold hands including a gold second hand with a heart at the end of it. Marked Sears, 7 Jewels, Hallmark Cards Inc. Movt Singapore, Dial Japan.Harlem Globetrotters by Bradley from 1972. Here we have a Globetrotter in their standard red, white, and blue jersey, having all the moves on the court. It has red numbers with red minute marks except for the 3, 6, 9, & 12 which look like basketballs and has his arms to tell the time. Marked Swiss made at the bottom. This one with original worn red MOD band.
